Leye Makanjuola – Founder, Intense
Leye is an entrepreneur, speaker and digital marketing professional. He laid his foundation in marketing communication from the Pan Atlantic University. He has consulted for top brands like Leadway Assurance, CHI and Total Nigeria. Leye received the YTECH 100 award in recognition of his contribution to the Nigerian technology space in 2015. He is the Founder and Chief Marketing Officer of Intense; a digital marketing agency in Lagos.
Ayo Akinola – Co-Founder, PiggyBank
Ayo is a Business Developer with a background in computer science from Covenant University. His forte includes market intelligence, project management, and Sales. He is a Co-Founder of a number of startups including the public favorite PiggyBank, PushCV and CerveApp. It later evolved into a simple system to help people improve on their savings culture by saving little by little everyday. PiggyBank has helped people save over N1b in less than 2 years of operations.
Obanor Chukwuwezam – Co-founder, Prepclass
Obanor Chukwuwezam is a 26 year old Nigerian, with a passion for building businesses. He’s co-founder and CEO of Prepclass, one of Nigeria’s most successful starts-ups. Wezam was featured on Forbes as one of the 30 most enterprising Africans under 30 and on CNN as a winner of the Anzisha award, a premier award for Africa’s youngest entrepreneurs PrepClass offers quick test taking strategies and targeted examination practice for students and provides access to personal home tutors Prepclass was selected as the only start-up from West-AFrica in the first GSMA ecosystem accelerator program and has been listed as one of the top 10 most innovative companies in Africa by GSMA.
Akin Oyebode – Executive Secretary of LSETF
Akintunde Oyebode is a trained Economist, passionate about sustainable development, sustainable finance and youth unemployment. He began his career as a Research Assistant at the Lagos Business School, and spent over a decade in various banking roles with First City Monument Bank (FCMB) and Stanbic IBTC Bank. Akin is the pioneer Executive Secretary of the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF), established to provide financial support to residents of Lagos State, for job and wealth creation and to tackle unemployment. His key focus at the LSETF is on promoting entrepreneurship by improving access to finance, strengthening the institutional capacity of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and formulating policies designed to improve the business environment in Lagos State.
Dr Femi Kuti – Co-founder, RelianceHMO
Dr Femi Kuti is Cofounder and Director at RelianceHMO, a Y Combinator backed startup that uses mobile technology, telemedicine and data science to make health insurance in Africa cheaper and more accessible. A trained medical doctor, Femi’s work experience has spanned clinical medicine, healthcare management and investment banking. Prior to starting RelianceHMO, he worked as an investment banking analyst with the healthcare team at Goldman Sachs, covering mergers, acquisitions and advisory for the pharmaceuticals, health Insurance, healthcare services and biotech industries.
Busayo Longe – Co-Founder – Formplus
Busayo is a Co-Founder and product lead of Formplus. He had his Bsc. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Lagos and Msc. in Engineering,Technology and Business Management from the University of Leeds. He is passionate about data and the role it’s playing in ensuring business longevity. Busayo won the University of Leeds Business Awards in 2017 for his approach to solving business data problems using Formplus. He is also a published photographer with his work appearing in Marie Claire,Virgin and UNICEF publications. Formplus is an online and offline, cloud-based data collection software that has helped organisations gather business data. Launching as a form builder after winning the Google App Developer Challenge for Sub-Saharan Africa, Formplus has helped over 50,000 businesses in more than 80 countries improve their business processes.
Intense Social Engineering will be a collective event where speakers share their experiences in order to help budding tech entrepreneurs cope with the challenges of work and improve performance, enabling them grow to the top of the ladder. At the end of it all, tech startup founders should be able to learn strategies for increased efficiency and productivity for the development of their startups and the Nigerian tech industry. Feedback from I.S.E will further help develop continuity programmes that will support training, funding and mentorship for tech entrepreneurs in the near future.
